Our Story

My son Jonathon and I have always loved motorcycles. After trying countless cups of impressive third-wave coffee, we wanted to try roasting our own beans. We figured why not take the two things we are passionate about and put them together! We created Moto Coffee Shop for coffee lovers and bike enthusiasts alike.

We roast and sell coffee beans and merch for the coffee/motorcycle community. We hope you enjoy the quality and freshness of our home-roasted beans and the wild adventures of life on two wheels!

We are a small-batch roastery, and every bag bought is made to order. We do not pre-roast any of our beans, meaning our coffee doesn’t sit on a shelf for weeks waiting to get shipped to you. By doing this, you get to experience the ultimate freshness of quality coffee. Your bag will come with a roast date and a “best enjoyed by” date to ensure a good-tasting cup!

Freshness

The peak freshness of coffee beans occurs between 7 to 21 days after the roast date. During this period, the flavors and aromas are most vibrant. Ultimately, the optimal time to brew after roasting varies based on the type of coffee and personal taste preference.

So what is the difference between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd wave coffee? First Wave Coffee specializes in convenience, think Folgers. Second Wave Coffee looks at specialty coffee drinks that feature higher quality roasts, like Starbucks. Third Wave Coffee’s sole focus is on the beans themselves and the art of crafting quality coffee. These types of coffee shops are complete with manual brewing methods (pour over, french press) and specific flavor notes on all brewed coffee.
